I used Krylon Ivory gloss spray paint in, and then black tinted glaze. It is solid wood and I sprayed the hardware with a black hammered metal spray paint. When I glaze, I just take a brush and cover the area, then wipe off with an old rag until I get the look I want, making sure to get glaze in all the cracks and crevasses. Hope that answers some questions! Thanks for the kind comments!
Well. I’m sure it’s not technically a sofa table but that is how we are going to use it!
I saw this beauty at Goodwill and snatched it up for $30! It is very very heavy and sturdy and I loved all the space underneath and the slide out drawers.
The details on the doors were just begging to be glazed! :)
Aren’t the door handles amazing?!

I’m gonna go ahead and present myself with an “awesome wife award”!
Judd mentions polo shirts… KACHOW! He gets ‘em!
Sure… I could go shop a “sale” and get a “great deal” on 6 shirts for say oh, mmm, $60 at best.
I could go thrifting and score all of the above pictured for a whopping total of $16.50!
Here is the details of my score:
6 shirts for $16.50 turns out to be $2.75 each
- blue stripe Tommy Hilfiger
- blue orange stripe brand new Gap
- brand new white long sleeve church shirt
- brand new orange St John’s Bay
- green stripe Gap
- blue stripe Sonoma
Pretty sure I could barely get one of those shirts new on sale for $16.50. Happy dance!
He’s so lucky to have me! ;)

So when I saw this awesome Wall O Mirrors at Vintage Revival I just had to do my own version! We’ve been in our new house for over two years and I still don’t have it decorated the way I want BUT it’s getting better every day!
Total cost for this whole project was $35. Old “junky” mirrors and paint.
I LOVE the way it turned out and even better, Judd is always complimenting the wall… he doesn’t notice anything, so this is big!
My one tip to anyone wanting to paint a mirror… make it 10x easier on yourself and find mirrors with screwed on backs that you can take off! That way you don’t have to painstakingly tape off the mirror inside the frame. I had to do that on three of them and it is just annoying to do.

So I’m not a furniture expert but talking to family, I think this bed is at least 60 plus years old.
I saw it one day and passed it by but when I went back the next week I just couldn’t leave without it again.
The footboard had a badly damaged wreath carving so I had to remove it.
I also removed the two old wooden wheels.
I painted it ivory and then glazed the details.
I’m soooo happy with how it turned out.
This bed is for sale. It’s a full size. Email me if your interested! email@example.com
I was inspired to use these colors when I saw THIS awesome piano painted by Brooke at All Things Thrifty!

Anyways, she had all of her adorable brand name (ann taylor, gap, banana republic... for real) clothing priced at $1 each?! So I scored big time and only spent $20.
Just the freakin' one dollar pair of SILVER JEANS was worth the $20.
I LOVE Silver jeans because they make my fat butt look half way decent but they are $60 - $90 so I maybe buy 1 pair every one to two years. These are my size and look hardly worn! Amazing. :)

The top 3 drawers all had broken drawer slides and after a week of trying to find the correct replacement slides… I had a light bulb moment!
Saw them off and make them false fronts! So smart. We were one step away from throwing the dresser in the back of the van and taking it to Goodwill and then we decided false fronts drawers would be better than NO drawers (by donating it) at all.
Judd LOVES to help me with projects, can’t you tell. Yeah… really he’s a butt about helping me usually but oh well! I guess with practice I’ll learn to use a saw and drill on my own! :)
Final cost after primer, paint, sand paper, wood glue, screws, handles, and knobs was $65. Not too shabby!!!
We plan on using this as an entertainment center…
p.s. I was originally inspired to start painting furniture because of THIS awesome blog! Brooke is da bomb!

Paid $78.43 for 80 items!
How do you like them apples! ;)
And I received a $3.00 coupon for my next shopping trip that I can use to purchase anything, not just sale items. In fact, if I would have been “hard core” I could have split these into different transactions and received about 5 $3.00 coupons.

This has been an amazingly crappy day BUT I did manage to snag an amazingly awesome garage sale find! FOURTEEN Build A Bear outfits for the kids for a total of THREE DOLLARS! Holy crow. I think that would have cost at least $200+ at the store!
Elliott and his new treasures… including the sweet Spiderman costume!
Cutie’s (the name of the bear) new wardrobe! :)

I’m having fun lately finding sales with Lilyan’s size clothing… last weekend I found a sale where I got 50 items for 30 cents each?! And a ton of it was name brand adorable fall clothes for Lil. This week I found a sale with some more great name brand stuff, for not as cheap but still a STEAL!
I looked online and added up what this would all cost from the store at the average “sale” prices and it was about $390.
I paid $20?!?!?! Wooohoooo!
